THE FIRST REPORT

The Itinerary from Perth

Departed 9 November

# First night at the Buddhist Lookout near to Serpentine overlooking the City of Perth
# 3 nights on the road (this means that we just find a level spot at a location just a short distance from the highway and spend the night )
# 3 nights in Albany at one of the Caravan parks and revisiting the highlights of the town.
# 2 nights on the road to Esperance and spent 5 nights at a caravan park. The length of time in some respects waiting for our mail.
# From Esperance then to Norseman with another 3 nights on the road.
#This Blog is from Norseman where we have 1 Night in “the” Caravan Park this is to await the mail and prepare for the big trip to cross the “Nullarbor” and reach South Australia.

Trip details
* Distance travelled from Perth is 1405kms
* Number of days travelled = 17 days

This is our first blog report since leaving Perth and as such is a time for reflection as well as looking back on the happenings on the road during this time.
The 5 month delays and all the events causing the delay are still being worked out of the system both bodily and mentally for both of us. However the return to some our old haunts at Albany and Esperance has enabled us to slowly work our way into the new way of life and the initial reaction is that we are in for a change and this change will be both interesting and in some ways quite invigorating. This is a fact that only a few months on the road will confirm this analysis.
The travels to date as shown us in the small southeast corner of WA there are a large number of “Grey Nomads” on the road both in Caravans and Motorhomes. There are hundreds on the road and bear in mind that we have been on a relatively quiet and remote part of WA, by implication there is going to be larger numbers the further east we travel.
One of the reasons to stay so long at Norseman was to watch the Federal election on the TV and the Nullarbor is not the place for TV reception, the election result like our current life style the Country has a similar situation “Change”. In addition we have to wait for the mail, it was posted on Friday and has not reached Noreseman by Monday. Manyana

Good to see you having a ball on the road.

Any thoughts on the election?
