This part of the trip covers the exodus from WA across the Divide between WA and the rest of Australia.
The start was delayed due to our organising the mail to catch us up at Norseman, but like all the planning for the trip, a further delay caused by the post being late or more likely our expectation being greater than the Australia Post performance. So it was back to Beacon Hill lookout for the night and enjoy the delights of Norseman, not the most entertaining of places, this is remote Australia after all.
With great relief the mail arrived on Tuesday morning and we were able to refuel/restock and as is our norm move out of Norseman by 1230.
The roadside rest areas on the Eyre Highway were all good to the extent that we took 3 nights on the road to Eucla.
A night’s stay at the Caravan Park provided a renewal of the water supply for the next leg which was to take us to Ceduna, the next watering hole.
The most notable part of the Norseman to Eucla leg was that there were more Kangaroo road kills than vehicles observed, you must bear in mind that our Maximum speed tends to be around 80 kms per hour so the number of vehicals may have been limited by that factor.

Some days we only had about 10 vehicles pass us going East in a day, Going West the traffic was not a lot different with Road Trains and Caravans being the most prominent.
After Eucla we crossed the border and Katherine made straight for the “Pokies” some 30 metres inside South Australia, well it was only a fuel stop with a room housing the “Pokies”.
The trip to Ceduna was uneventful with the views of the Great Australian Bight being the main interest.
Visiting the edge of the unguarded cliffs was pretty dangerous so our venture in that direction was limited and of course the whales had migrated some 2 months earlier so we missed them, maybe next time.
The rest areas on the SA side of the border equalled those of WA so we had comfortable stays all the way to Ceduna.

So you're that slow coach who is clogging up my clear run at 160 with the top down and music blearing, if only you could hear the violent and obscene abuse being hurled across the highway!
