"The Daintree"

The trip from Cooktown to "the Daintree" was uneventful other than we managed to take 3 days on a 200Km journey, what do we do on the road, this time the overnight stop lasted 2 nights, just resting up I suppose!!

We have found that all the places we visit are radically effected by three factors-Firstly our state of mind at the time, the impact of the environment i.e. the weather, people,facilities and finally where we stay during our visit.
This was no more evident than in "the Daintree".
This is without doubt an international gem, this coupled with all the stars aligned i.e. State of mind, environment and places to stay made this memorable, and some of the images reflect this.
There are no real forest scenes, our camera skills just cannot capture the peace, and tranquility of the forest.
Perhaps the last image is an indication of our feelings.

But just to remind you of our existence and harmless creatures in the forest, we managed to have someone record one of our forest moments.

Unusual signs like this are posted at all beaches.

Swimming therefore can be fraught with danger!!

This is a sign worth enlarging and reading - Cassowaries are the flightless birds of the far north Queensland tropics.

And we seen more than one!

This is the only one we managed to capture on camera.
Not a large one, since they can be up to 2 metres high.

In the forest

This is where the rain forest meets the coral sea.

We spent a night 20 metres from here with the sound of the Ocean

just overcoming the forest night life noises
