This next group of photographs highlight the contrasts of the Australian Outback especially the Centre. We are now passing the Centre both East/West and North/South and it is a mixture of nature and the oddities of man.
This is a free shower facility at one of the free camp site at a roadhouse ( for the non Australians this is a food and fuel stop which is rugged in all respects). At times like this we are glad of our on board facilities. The inside of this shower was extremely rugged.
Not far from the shower was this Aboriginal statue was it inspired by the European influence? but was very distinctive.
Another desert creature on the hunt.
Another hunter
This is a roadhouse with attitude.
Rumour has it that the site has been visited by Aliens! resulting in the decor.
Was it for fuel or food - never the food!!
If they did try the food, see the effect - were they heading for the local toilet as a result.it would explain the colour.
Are these indigenous Australian fauna?
This is Katherine looking for the Devil and finding a lot of rock!!
The shop only closed in the early 1970's.
Hygiene where were you??
The place Stuart Wells, the room in a third rate roadhouse that provided free camping for travellers.
In addition to the food and fuel the owner, seated on the chair late of Birmingham ( Well he left in the 1950's) and quote"a singing dingo"
This is a full blown wild dingo called "Dinky" that howls in some correlation to the piano chords as witnessed by the photographs!
Our friend here is special though.
Playing decent country guitar, with 2 chickens on his head.
Well he called them "Eagles"
